A BRIGHT future is forecast for this England youth international goalkeeper from Newton Aycliffe.
Standing 6ft 3ins tall, Jason has already represented his country at U16 and U17 level and was called into the U19 squad in September 2007 just a month after he celebrated his 17th birthday.
In May 2007 he was a key member of the England U17 team which reached the final of the European Championships in Belgium.
England were beaten 1-0 by Spain but still qualified for the World U17 Championships to be held in South Korea in August and September.
Sadly, illness meant he was unable to play any part in the tournament.
Jason joined Boro at the age of 13 from Newton Aycliffe Sports Club.
For his school team he played centre midfield while his classmate Matthew Atkinson, who also went on to Boro's books, kept goal.
His progress was rewarded when he was named in Boro's first team squad for a pre-season tour of Austria in 2007, although a bout of tendonitis meant he missed the trip.
Jason maintained his progress through the 2008-09 season, at the end of which he played at intergral part for England U19s as they progressed to the finals of the UEFA European U19 Championships in Ukraine in July 2009 by topping a play-off group.
He was captain for England's final two qualifying games.
Jason signed a new, three-year Boro contract in May 2009.
