A MAGNIFICENT first half display from Boro gave Marie Wieczorek's side a comfortable victory over local rivals in the penultimate game of the season.

With a strong team Boro were dominant from the start, playing very direct football, moving well both on and off the ball.

Nicky Duckling looked very sharp and nearly scored after three minutes, missing narrowly with a fine shot. But she was not to be denied when opening the scoring with a fine run and finish.

Striking partner Jess Close found herself in space and after controlling the ball well she skipped past a lunging challenge to shoot powerfully into the net.

Peterlee responded with some neat attacking play of their own but the game was effectively killed off just before the break when skipper Abbey Lyle met Sarah Manning's pin point cross.

Boro keeper Ami Bullen had to be alert just after half-time making two excellent saves and when Duckling slotted home for her second the game was over as a contest.
