BORO will take part in the four-club Algarve Challenge Cup in Portugal during late July as part of their warm-up for the 2008-09 season.

The other clubs involved are SPL Champions Celtic, FA Cup finalists Cardiff City and Vitoria Guimaraes, who finished third in the Portuguese league behind Porto and Sporting Lisbon.

Boro will play Celtic on Tuesday July 22 and Vitoria Guimaraes on Thursday July 24 at the Algarve Stadium after flying out for a week-long training camp in the Algarve.

Three years ago Boro played Real Betis and Sporting Lisbon in a similar tournament in the Algarve.

Prices range from 38.50 euros (approx £30.50) for a single day pass covering two games, to 250 euros (approx £198.50) for a family pass (two adults, two children) for both days and every match.

For those fans looking to purchase tickets between the 1st July and the beginning of the tournament when you purchase them online please list the name of the hotel (or the property address) you are staying at on the Algarve these will be delivered prior to the tournament.

Other friendlies will see Boro making return trips to Darlington, Carlisle and Hibernian, while there is also an early challenge against Blue Square Premier side York City. The pre-season schedule ends with a trip to Holland to face Sparta Rotterdam.
