BORO could have an unprecedented five players involved in the same international game later this month as England U21s face their Welsh counterparts at the Racecourse Ground.

Stuart Pearce has called up Lee Cattermole, Adam Johnson, David Wheater and Andrew Taylor to the squad while Rhys Williams is again involved for Wales.

Pearce was delighted to name a party containing the likes of Gabriel Agbonlahor and Theo Walcott.

"I know enough about the Steven Taylors, the Milners and the Huddlestones but have been able to bring back a few other players like Martin Cranie and Andrew Taylor who have been missing through injury.

"This squad is a stronger version of what we had for the Poland game but it might be a lot stronger when you look at the likes of Agbonlahor, Walcott, Michael Johnson, who's lightly raced and highly fancied, plus the two full-backs (Taylor and Cranie) and David Wheater coming back in.

"So we've strengthened it up fairly considerably."

The game will be played at Wrexham FC on May 15.

Meanwhile, Jason Steele has been selected as part of the England U19 squad for their UEFA European Championship Elite Round Tournament, Group 1 v Belarus, Serbia and Poland taking place in Minsk, Belarus.
