BORO fans still have time to bid for a place in an end-of-the-season Riverside showdown in aid of Teesside Hospice, Butterwick House Children's Hospice and diabetes research projects.

But time is fast running out to bid for the final few places in the annual Football Aid match at the Riverside Stadium on Tuesday May 13.

Many fans have already snapped up places in the starting line-up - and bidding is due to end for two goalkeepers, a right-back and substitutes for the centre-half, left-midfield and right-back positions.

Boro have joined forces with Football Aid to give fans the chance to battle it out in an online auction against fellow Boro supporters to snap up one of the few remaining positions.

All funds raised will go towards Boro's chosen charities, Teesside Hospice and Butterwick House Children's Hospice, plus Football Aid's parent charity, Field of Dreams, towards diabetes research, education, and management or community projects.

Fans can enjoy the ultimate football experience by bidding online now at www.footballaid.com

Those lucky enough to secure their positions on the team sheet will be given the chance to pull on the famous Boro shirt with their name and number emblazoned across their backs before playing alongside Boro legends in a 90-minute match at the Riverside.

This year's captains and managers have yet to be confirmed, but former stars to have taken part in the Football Aid match in past years have included John Hendrie, Mark Proctor, Steve Vickers, Curtis Fleming, Robbie Mustoe and Bernie Slaven.

Top bids for this year's goalkeeper positions are £215 and £265, while the best bid to play at right-back stands at £250. Top bids for substitute appearances stand at £425 (left-midfield), £301 and £200 (right-backs), £170 (centre-halves).

Bidding ends on some positions on February 26, with the last of the bid deadlines passing on Friday February 29.
