Boro Sign Exclusive Commentary Deal
MIDDLESBROUGH Football Club have signed an exclusive commentary contract with BBC Radio Cleveland.
The new deal means that BBC Radio Cleveland will be the only radio station running full match commentaries of every Boro league and cup match when the new 2007-08 Barclays Premier League season kicks off on August 11.
BBC Radio Cleveland have confirmed that their established commentary team of Paul Addison and former Boro player Gary Gill will remain in place for their coverage of Boro's tenth successive season in the Premier League.
Chief executive Keith Lamb said: "We are delighted to have signed an exclusive commentary contract with BBC Radio Cleveland.
"The new deal gives us an opportunity to build on the excellent working relationship we have developed with BBC Radio Cleveland over recent years.
"I am sure they will continue to offer a first class commentary service and general coverage of the club, led by Paul and Gary."
BBC Radio Cleveland editor Matthew Barraclough added: "We're absolutely delighted to be the club's broadcasting partner. It's a fantastic opportunity to celebrate Boro's achievements both on the pitch and in the wider community.
"Paul Addison and Gary Gill are a brilliant commentary team and we can't wait for the season to get under way."
