A popular feature outside the Riverside Stadium, the Brick Road already features inscribed bricks dedicated to over 5,000 supporters and more than 50 legends of the club including Juninho, Wilf Mannion, Steve Gibson and Gareth Southgate.

Bricks cost from £39.95 with order forms available from the club's official website, the MFC Retail stores and the Riverside Stadium reception.

The polls for the next stars to join the list of Boro legends on the Brick Road attracted thousands of votes from fans.

MFC nominated 30 former players, 10 each from three distinct eras in the club's history, from which fans chose three who they felt was most deserving of a place on the Boro Brick Road.

The scorer of 90 league goals for Boro between 1950 and 1958, Delapenha was the run-away winner for players who appeared for the club between 1876 and 1966, receiving 43% of the votes, way ahead of second-placed Bob Baxter, with less than 10%.

The full 1950-58 results were: Delpenha (42.9%), Baxter (9.7%), Bill Harris (9.5%), Dicky Robinson (8.6%), Billy Day (7.2%), Eddie Holliday (5.3%), Billy Pease (5.3%), Tom Bach (5.0%), Jackson Ewbank (3.2%), Billy Forrest (3.2%).

Northern Ireland star Cochrane, who made 128 Boro appearances between 1978 and 1983, topped the poll for stars of the 1966-1986 era, with 19% of the votes. Craig Johnston and Bosco Jankovic just missed out.

The results for 1966-86 were: Cochrane (18.9%), Johnston (14.6%), Jankovic (13.7%), John O'Rourke (11.6%), Bill Gates (9.0%), Eric McMordie (8.8%), Alan Foggon (7.8%), David Hodgson (7.1%), Tony McAndrew (5.4%), Hugh McIlmoyle (2.9%).

Topping the vote for stars the last 21 years was Emerson, the enigmatic Brazilian midfielder, who played 70 times for the club 1996-98. He received one in five of the votes cast to finish ahead of runners-up Bolo Zenden and Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink.

The results for 1986-2007 were: Emerson (19.9%), Zenden (15.9%), Hasselbaink (15.1%), Paul Wilkinson (10.2%), Steve Vickers (8.1%), Mark Proctor (7.9%), Jamie Pollock (7.3%), Joseph-Desire Job (6.7%), Alen Boksic (6.0%), Hamilton Ricard (3.1%).
